About Us!

“Home is where our family lives.”

This is a military family’s mantra with all the moving around.  As a Blended family this sometimes means that your home (or heart) is spread out between different states and sometimes countries at any given time.  Holiday’s look different depending on which year it is. Sometime its all our kids under one roof, sometimes its half, and sometimes its just Felipe and I. For us, home is where our kids are.

Creating family traditions can be challenging so we always make the most of the time we have together. Our family traditions are more focused on experiencing new adventures and exploring wherever we may be.

We’ve found a way to make the most of our situation cherishing every moment we have together or apart.  Throughout the years we’ve become pretty savvy at creating itineraries for family adventures for both young kids, teenagers, young adults, and for just the two of us.

How we Met

We both first me while serving in the Army on Active Duty in Washington State!  We spent our first year dating with an ocean between us- He was station in South Korea and I was in Texas!  Our love for travel and adventures was clear right from the beginning.  We met up every 3 months, first in Mexico (Puerto Vallarta), then in Texas, then in South Korea, then finally reunited together.

Blending our families

When we made the leap to move in together we came up with a perfect (in my opinion) was to bring the kids together to meet for the first time.  We had purchased a home near Austin that we hadn’t moved into yet, and with my daughters in Arizona and his kids in El Paso, TX we decided a road trip was best.  We rented an RV picked up my girls, drove to El Paso and picked up this kids and started off our road trip with little adventures along the way.

So by the time we got to our new (but empty) home near Austin we all walked into our new life together and we never looked back.  There was a big age difference but our kids just connected and our family was as if it was always meant to be this way.

Hopes, Dreams, Goals, and Adventures

Since then we as a family try to take advantage of any place we are at to explore, experience, and try new things.  We tend to gravitate towards nature, but one thing is for sure is that our bucket list keeps growing.  We have a ton of international travel in our future with pans of taking a whole year (yes…. An entire year) to just travel together.  I can’t wait for what lies ahead for our family!
