Our evening began with a pick-up from our hotel at 6 pm. Mohammad took us to the meeting point where the Kongo River meets the Indian Ocean. Here, we found plenty of vendors who offer canoe and paddleboard rentals. But before we began our canoe ride, we decided to enjoy some fresh coconuts on the beach. The perfect start to a fantastic evening.
Once we were ready, our guide took us upstream, pointing out the diverse wildlife that we passed along the way. The lush vegetation and tranquil atmosphere were mesmerizing, even though we were in a small canoe. However, it began to rain, which made the ride even more special. The rain droplets falling into the water created a symphony of sounds that, coupled with the sounds of birds, created an enchanting rhythm.
